Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. College in the seminary at Notre Dame. Masters Degree in Theology in Washington, D.C. Ordination at Notre Dame.
Assignments: parishes in New Orleans, LA, (1968-1974), Austin, TX, (1974-1980), Monterrey, Mexico (1990-2011), Tampa, FL (2012-2015). Worked for Holy Cross for 14 years: (1980-1988) and (2015-2021).
Now I am happy to be at St Ignatius again.
President Steve Palmer
Member of St. Ignatius Martyr parish since 1973. Joined the men's club in 1989 and became a charter member of Knights of Columbus council 10131 same year following in my dad's footsteps. Other positions held at the parish include: Parish council chair; school board chair; troop 33 chair and lector for the past 40 years.
Born in Ft. Knox Kentucky and raised in Kansas. Received Batchelor degree from Southwest Texas State in business psychology and management. Retired from 30 years service with the Texas Department of Transportation.
Hobbies include bbq catering, sports and antiques. Best friend is an Irish setter named "Charlie ". Proud parent of Ryan and Michelle both graduates of St. Ignatius Martyr School and two grandchildren Erin and Trevor.
Married to my lifetime best friend Ella since 1983 right here at St. Ignatius.. Love the Notre Dame Fighting Irish!

Born and raised in Austin, was in the first graduating class of Bowie High school and attended Austin Community College.
Cooking is his passion. Spent 3 years as a cook in the Army during Desert Storm. He has continued in his field of expertise and has been employed as a cook since 1996. The cooking passion runs in the family, his mother was employed as a cook for over 46 years at St David's hospital..
Has attended St Ignatius since 1995 and has been in the men's club for two years. Joe is also in the Knights of Columbus and is a past Grand Knight.Treasurer Gary "Carp" Bartsch

Steve Michlik, originally from Dallas, Texas, has led a life marked by commitment to his family, faith, and service to others. Since moving to Austin in 2014, Steve and his wife, Karen, have become an integral part of the community, joining Saint Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church as active members that same year. His involvement deepened in 2022 when he joined the church’s men’s club, reflecting his dedication to service and camaraderie.
Steve currently resides in Round Rock, Texas, alongside his wife of 41 years. Together, they have raised three children and proudly celebrate their role as grandparents to four grandchildren. Family remains at the heart of Steve’s life, serving as a foundation for his values and ambitions.
Professionally, Steve has been a steadfast presence in the insurance industry since 2008. He now works with Catholic Life Insurance, leveraging his expertise and dedication to help clients manage their financial security. His career reflects not only his commitment to professional excellence but also his alignment with organizations that resonate with his values.
From his roots in Dallas to his current life in Round Rock, Steve Michlik’s journey exemplifies the harmony of faith, family, and service to others.
